Lynita Langley-Ware

Lynita Langley-Ware has been director of the Faulkner County Museum since 2001, promoting and preserving the history of the county and surrounding area through exhibits and outreach programs. She also partners with local school districts and colleges, providing learning opportunities for students as well as teachers and instructors. 

A Faulkner County Native, Lynita grew up in the Republican community of Greenbrier. After earning a BA in Anthropology from the University of Arkansas in 1991, she earned an MA in Anthropology from the University of Alberta, Canada. In 2006, she completed a Masters Level Distance Learning Program in Museum Studies from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. 

Lynita is a member of the Arkansas Archaeological Society, the Society for Historical Archaeology, and the Registry of Professional Archaeologists. She also serves as an ad-hoc member of the Faulkner County Historical Society and is a founding member of the Greenbrier Area Arts Council and ArtJam, the Greenbrier annual arts festival. 

Today, Lynita still lives in Greenbrier on the family dairy farm with her husband, Phil, and her two children. In her “spare time,” she can be found working in her garden, weaving, constructing quilts, creating beaded jewelry, upcycling thrift clothing, and cooking for her family.
