The Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is dedicated to preparing and protecting Faulkner County citizens and their property from the effects of natural, man-made, and technological disasters.

We achieve this by maintaining a strong foundation of:

OEM Responsibilities

In addition to emergency management, our office handles:

🚧 Floodplain Management – Ensuring compliance with FEMA regulations. Floodplain permits are required before any development in FEMA-designated flood zones.

πŸ“ 911 Addressing – Assigning new addresses and maintaining accurate location data for emergency responders.

πŸ—Ί Plat Approvals – Reviewing and approving plats for new developments.

πŸ›£ Road Name Approvals – Approving new road names to avoid duplication and confusion.

πŸ“– Master Street Address Guide (MSAG) Management –
OEM maintains the Master Street Address Guide (MSAG)β€”the official database of valid streets, thoroughfares, house numbers, and communities within Faulkner County. The MSAG ensures that:

  • Emergency responders are correctly assigned to specific addresses.
  • 911 calls are routed to the correct Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the fastest response.
  • Accurate location data is available for dispatchers, emergency services, and local government agencies.

🚦 Road Name Signs – Coordinating the installation and maintenance of road name signage throughout the county.

πŸ”₯ Fire Services Coordination – Acting as the coordinating agency for fire services within Faulkner County.
