Faulkner County Fire Departments

The Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) serves as the Fire Services Coordinating Agency for the county. Currently, Faulkner County is served by 23 fire departments, most of which are volunteer-based. The only full-time, paid department is the Conway Fire Department.

Volunteer Fire Departments: Availability Information

Please note that the majority of fire departments in Faulkner County are volunteer departments. Volunteer firefighters typically have full-time jobs and do not remain at the fire station waiting for calls. When an emergency occurs, they respond from their homes or jobs, then proceed to the fire station before heading to the scene of the incident.

This means that fire departments do not have someone stationed at the firehouse available for calls at all times. If you need to contact a volunteer fire department, please leave a voicemail. The department will respond as soon as they are able, typically after finishing their work or other responsibilities.

If you do not hear back within a few days, please feel free to contact the Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management. We can assist by taking your information and passing it along to the appropriate fire department.

• Emergency Calls: In the event of an emergency, do not contact the fire department directly. Instead, dial 911 for immediate assistance. The 911 dispatchers will coordinate with the appropriate fire department and emergency responders to address your situation as quickly as possible.
• Controlled Burns: If you plan to conduct a controlled burn and need to notify the fire department, please do not call the fire department directly. Instead, call the non-emergency number for the Conway Emergency Operations Center (EOC), which serves as the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) center for Faulkner County. The dispatchers will log your controlled burn and notify the appropriate fire department.
