       Voluntary Tax Dollars at Work

Check the box! Help support your community by paying your voluntary taxes! Voluntary Tax Dollars are vital to the sustainability of several organizations in Faulkner County. When you elect to pay your voluntary taxes, your contribution supports the following five organizations that provide vital services to the citizens of Faulkner County:

The Faulkner County Museum maintains historical artifacts for the community to explore, preserving the rich history of Faulkner County. The Museum is an educational destination that showcases items from Faulkner County’s pre-history and history, maintains six different types of collections including archival and documentary materials, art by local artists, image collections, a research and reference collection, a teaching collection, and a collection of historic and prehistoric objects and artifacts. Your contribution allows the museum to maintain its exhibits, expand educational programs, and continue serving as a cultural cornerstone of our community.

The Faulkner County Rescue Squad is a dedicated volunteer emergency response team that averages 70 to 80 emergency calls annually, providing critical aid to Faulkner County and neighboring areas and fire departments. The team is comprised of paramedics, EMTs, first responders, registered nurses, and other volunteers. In addition to responding to emergencies, the Rescue Squad offers free identification services at child safety fairs, provides standby emergency support for community and sporting events, and engages in search and rescue missions.

The Faulkner County Extension Office strengthens agriculture, communities, and families by connecting trusted research to the adoption of best practices. The Extension Office services citizens by helping to improve their economics, well-being, and quality of life through agriculture, 4-H, family and consumer science, community development, and more! The Extension Office can help you with 4-H youth development, soil testing, insecticide recommendations, weed identification, produce safety, animals and forages, money management, parenting, food safety and preservation, nutrition, and so much more!

The Faulkner County Soil Conservation District has a personal investment and interest in improving the quality of life in the community. The Soil Conservation District is a local office, so staff have deep, first-hand knowledge of the natural resource issues and challenges faced by fellow community members. The Conservation District protects, maintains, and enhances natural resources for now and future generations while providing technical assistance and guidance to customers on the wise and efficient use and conservation of soil, water, and related natural resources.

The Faulkner County Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization which serves our citizens by providing compassionate care for animals that have been abandoned, neglected, or surrendered. The Animal Shelter values volunteers and partnerships with support groups, businesses, and individuals.
